Are you ever going to finish Reborn Again?

I believe that I will, but that depends on whether my inspiration catches up with my age or not. It's a project that's been simmering in my mind for a while now, so I figure it'll just come out and write itself in bits and pieces over time.

Could take years and years more, though. So I wouldn't recommend anyone wait for it. :P

Why can't you just finish the story instead of rewriting it?!

Over several years I've looked over Reborn Again, rethought a lot of the plot and characters, and went through some life-changing events. I also like to think my writing's improved a lot since I first tackled the 'fic.

In short, I just don't think I could continue Reborn Again the way it was originally written. There's too much I want to do differently, and I'd like the quality and quantity (as in chapter lengths) of writing to be more consistent from now on.

Is the rewrite going to be like that short story you wrote (Embracing A World Preordained)? I liked the original way better!

Actually, no. The rewrite will still be written in good ol' first person perspective, with all the foul-mouthed Nina-isms you might want. The third person parts are only for the side story, which I plan to have run parallel to the actual Reborn Again chapters.

And no, I won't be neglecting the main story for the side story. The two are intertwined, but the main characters are the force that drives the entire story forward. The characters of the side story are simply reacting to what happens in their wake. So I could very well just write side story parts whenever I feel like it, and progress more regularly with the main chapters.

I have x idea for a character / scene / location / etc.

I don't usually take ideas from others. Though now and then I am inspired by my friends to add things into Reborn Again.

Still, if you have an idea, go ahead and tell me it! At the least, it'll lead to a RA discussion, something I very much enjoy. But don't expect me to incorporate it just because you want me to.

What happened / what are you going to do with my cameo character?

I've decided I won't keep every character based on friends/acquaintances that I put into Reborn Again. The reason being is that I've lost touch with some of those people, sadly, so I don't want to mess with their characters if we're incommunicado. I might also decide that the character is no longer fitting for the scene, and just not write them into the rewrite.

On the other hand, there are several people who basically put their characters into my hands and gave me permission to keep using them (two I can think of are Sati and Rya). Many -- if not most! -- of those will be staying, but again, it depends on how appropriate I decide it would be.

Mieu Sedai's one of my oldest nicks online. I still go by Mieu in some places, but generally, on the web, I go by the Dark Siren.
