Reborn Again - Credits
Companies, authors, musicians, etc.
- Capcom for creating the Breath of Fire series of console roleplaying games. Most of the locations in Reborn Again, the previous incarnations of the Destined Ones, and the events of previous Destined Cycles have been extrapolated from Breath of Fire 1, 2 and 3.
- Michael Swanwick for writing The Iron Dragon's Daughter, which (beyond still being my favorite book of all time after so many years) greatly inspired the way I portrayed Breath of Fire modernized.
- Tori Amos, whose song "Marianne" from the album Boys For Pele partially inspired the character of the same name in Reborn Again Chapter 0.
- Hajime Sawada, artist of the manga Blood of Matools, which inspired Ryan's appearance as well as that of the hybridized Earth races in Reborn Again (what can I say, I really like horns.)
- Patrick Michaud for creating the very nifty PmWiki, upon which this site is built.
People I know
- My sister, for inspiring Karen Brangwyn, as well as helping me come up with several other characters, including Ray Walsh, Cygnus, and of course... the malevolent Sabati. She was a big help in the first 30 chapters or so of the original story. ^_^
- My husband, who... oddly enough, I didn't really get to know well until after I stopped writing the old version of Reborn Again. Nonetheless, he's inspired a lot of what I want to do in the rewrite (a lot of his characters are going into it now: Cyrus, Shirai, Alexsei, Kazuki and possibly more.) I've always found it quite fitting that he and Ryan share a lot of personality traits, too.
- Solace Winters, one of my friends from long ago, who allowed me the use of her character Sati, daughter of Deis. Though we don't talk any more, I hope she will like what I end up doing with Sati.
- Jennifer Torres, another old friend from the Fangirls ML, who gave me her character Rya to torture... I mean, put into Reborn Again as one of Sabati's showgirls.
And the rest!
All of you who've submitted fanworks in the past, sent emails about Reborn Again or just took the time to read (and hopefully enjoy) it... I'm thankful to you as well. You might be anonymous faces to me, but the few times I've discovered that my writing touched someone else's heart, or inspired them in some way, have been worth it.
